St. Louis, MONovember 2, 2023—Nine PBS announces a new podcast, Listen, St. Louis with Carol Daniel, premiering November 9. In 30-minute episodes, Senior Producer and distinguished St. Louis media veteran Carol Daniel interviews a wide range of local people and organizations in conversations aimed at providing context and clarity about the St. Louis community. Listen, St. Louis will explore complex issues with people working to help our region thrive.

“One of my goals in joining the Nine PBS team was to take a new, innovative approach to storytelling in content that explores the critical issues facing underrepresented communities in our region,” said Daniel. “From education to politics to healthcare to employment, I want to find out what’s holding us back and how we can move forward together.”

Listen, St. Louis launches November 9 with three episodes. Episode 1 features Marvin Steele, President and CEO of Heartland St. Louis Black Chamber of Commerce, discussing why black business ownership in the St. Louis region should matter to everyone. In episode 2, we meet Amy Hunter, Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Caleres, in a conversation on what is holding back investment in black children and how we move a divided region forward. Episode 3 introduces Neal Richardson, President and CEO of the St. Louis Development Corporation, in a talk on creating equitable growth and prosperity for disinvested parts of St. Louis.

Listen, St. Louis digs deep, asks tough questions, and lifts up stories of hope, highlighting the people in our community who are working to help make a difference,” said Aja Williams, Vice President and Chief Content Officer, Nine PBS. “In these important conversations, Carol Daniel is growing understanding and building bridges between communities across the region.”
