Teaching in Room 9

Nine PBS’s award-winning kids’ program continues to transform the early learning landscape as it helps young learners get ready for school. Each 30-minute episode features a familiar host, Dr. Sanders, along with lessons from some of the region’s best classroom teachers, special guests, and fun field trips. Every episode focuses on literacy and includes segments on school readiness, social-emotional learning, STEM, and movement.

The fall 2024 season—the show’s ninth in five years—was created in close collaboration with Webster University. Students from its School of Communications helped develop the program curriculum, and episodes were filmed at Webster’s new, state-of-the-art studio.

Teaching in Room 9 reflects Nine PBS’s commitment to preparing kids for school and for life. Since its founding 70 years ago, Nine PBS has collaborated closely with and supported educators to help better serve the St. Louis region.

The new season premieres on Monday, September 16.

Weekdays, Monday–Friday, 9:30–10 am, on Nine PBS and livestream

Episodes from all nine seasons can also be viewed on ninepbs.org, on YouTube, and on the PBS app

Teaching in Room 9 is supported by Bank of America, Berges Family Foundation, Boeing, The Cigna Group Foundation, Dana Brown Charitable Trust, Emerson Charitable Trust, and Pershing Charitable Trust.
