Balloon Glow

Friday, September 18 and 19 

Come float away with Nine PBS! Join us as we watch the Nine PBS Balloon light up and lift off at the 54th annual Great Forest Park Balloon Glow and Race. Check out our booth on the North side of the field, where you'll enjoy free resourcesp, activities, and a chance to meet everyone's favorite book-lover, Arthur! The Saint Louis County Library Book Mobile will be joining us to hand out free books both days and create library cards. We can't wait to see you!

The Trail State - Documentary Premiere

Missouri History Museum

Be the first to watch The Trail State, a documentary about the power of trails to transform communities, economies, and lives. At its heart is Missouri’s 237-mile Katy Trail—once an abandoned rail line, now a thriving connection between people, places, and possibility. Its success has inspired a new generation of trails, from the grassroots-driven Rock Island Trail in Kansas City to St. Louis’s Brickline Greenway. Through these stories, The Trail State explores how Missouri is leading the way in proving that trails are more than recreation—they are economic lifelines, conservation tools, and bridges to a more connected future.

After the screening (56 minutes), stay for a brief conversation with filmmaker and director Chris Ryan and MHS Associate Public Historian Darby Ratliff.

Arrive early for our Happy Hour and to explore the Museum’s exhibits and community resource tables, enjoy food and drinks for purchase. 

This program is a collaboration between Magnificent Missouri, STL.org, ONCE Films, the Missouri Historical Society, and Nine PBS.

Nine PBS Playdate at the Zoo

Join us for a wild day at the Saint Louis Zoo, including an exclusive sneak peek of Elmo’s upcoming special, Sesame Street and the Great Elephant Adventure! Get ready for an unforgettable day as we celebrate Sesame Street's first-ever safari adventure with hands-on activities, games, crafts, and free learning resources for the whole family.

Edcamp On The Road!

Rung For Women 

Educators from around the region are eligible for 2.5 clock hours through breakout sessions on a variety of topics, skills, and resources, as well as an opportunity to take a deeper dive into Nine PBS’s multimedia learning resources.

Edcamp is open to both educators and caregivers and aims to promote collaboration between home and school to improve children’s education. This experience is free for all attendees and includes materials, meals, and giveaways.

Edcamp 2026 is made possible by major support from the Norman J. Stupp Foundation and PNC Grow Up Great, with additional support from Emerson, the Pershing Charitable Trust and the Saint Louis Zoo.
