On June 14, more than 1,000 people joined us for our Nine PBS: Playdate on the Pitch, part of CITY SC’s Summer of Soccer. On location at Energizer Park, kids enjoyed PBS KIDS® programs and resources while playing soccer, learning how to stay healthy, and exploring lots of learning opportunities available in our community.
The event featured hands-on games, crafts, experiments, and interactive activities perfect for curious young athletes. Plus, we had some very special visitors—Clifford the Big Red Dog and Zeke from Work it out Wombats.
The morning didn’t end there; kids were able to visit the field at Energizer Park to play soccer and participate in drills with CITY SC coaching staff. Throughout the event, PBS KIDS programs showed on the big screen as well as around the concourse, highlighting friends who love soccer as much as we do, like Clifford, Pinkalicious, Daniel Tiger, and Super Why! Everyone was decked out to support their favorite soccer teams from all around the world, including Mexico, Ecuador, Italy, and St. Louis City SC, of course!
