Pati’s Mexican Table, Season 15, explores life and food in the Mexican desert, just below Texas, where Pati finds the same belief that has guided her: food unites across borders.
Season 15 journeys to Coahuila, a northern Mexican state of dramatic contrasts, whose history runs deep. It’s where vaquero traditions gave rise to cowboy culture, and where the food tells the story of a resilient, generous people.
Pati visits the first winery in the Americas, where vineyards have flourished for more than four centuries in a desert oasis. We meet the women of Viesca who scale towering date palms, a tradition that stretches back nearly 300 years. And along the way, Pati samples pink pine nuts gathered in the Sierra, breads sweetened with piloncillo, and meats grilled over open flame, the way norteños (northerners) have cooked for generations. She then brings Coahuila’s flavors to the kitchen to share with you.
