Staff Changes at Nine Reflect a Focus on Community

St. Louis, MO — July 28, 2020 – When Amy Shaw was named Nine Network’s President and Chief Executive Officer in February 2020, she had no idea the entire world was about to be upended by a pandemic, necessitating working from home, school closures, and intensifying economic disparities. It illuminated the need for a reorganization of Nine’s staff to respond more nimbly now and in the future.

“We are organized as a team of teams that work together for the greater good,” Shaw says. She has implemented the following organizational changes to ensure maximum collaboration, clarity, and effectiveness in how Nine impacts the community.

Angela Carr has been promoted to Vice President and Chief Impact Officer. Carr oversees the fundraising activities and execution for on-the-ground community engagement initiatives, cultivating funder relationships and managing long-term fundraising plans.

Russ Hitzemann has been promoted to Vice President and Chief Individual Giving Officer. Hitzemann is responsible for shaping short- and long-term individual donor strategies.

Kate Diouf becomes Senior Director of Organizational Excellence to lead the organizational development and change-management efforts to build an engaged, inclusive, high-performance culture at Nine.

Anne-Marie Berger becomes Senior Director of Content. She has been a senior producer and director at Nine since 2000.

Roya Bromell becomes the Senior Director of Development. She has overseen Nine’s planned and major giving program since 2014.

Other promotions include:

  • Caroline Campana has an expanded role that includes management and direction of special projects and engagement initiatives as Director of Impact Projects.
  • Peggy Goodfriend has been promoted to Director of Broadcast Promotions, where she will manage and direct on-air promotional efforts for the marketing team.
  • Megan Grisolano has been promoted to Director of Communications to raise awareness for Nine's content and community engagement work.
  • Andi Harpring has been promoted to Director of Engagement and Learning to continue to deepen impact in the workforce development and education space.
  • Alex Stallings has been promoted to Director of Early Learning to continue to deepen impact and outcomes of Nine’s work in early learning.

One executive-level position was eliminated as part of the reorganization.
