The plans to restore one of the 127-year-old Compton Hill Water Tower; Mychal Threets, the host of the new Reading Rainbow revival, visited the St. Louis Public Library last week to talk about his new book; and I Am St. Louis revisits the legacy of the Homer G. Phillips Hospital, told through the nurses who trained there.

Compton Hill Water Tower
An update on the plans to restore one of the most notable water towers in St. Louis, the Compton Hill Water Tower, as the 127-year-old landmark at Grand and Russell has been closed for several years due to masonry deterioration.

PBS’ Resident Librarian, Mychal Threets 
Known as “Mychal the Librarian”, Mychal Threets visited the St. Louis Public Library to talk about his new book celebrating the joy of libraries, and about his role as the host of the new Reading Rainbow revival.  

I Am St. Louis: Homer G. Phillips Hospital
Revisiting the legacy of St. Louis’s public hospital for African Americans, told through the experiences of nurses who trained there, and the challenges they faced after it closed in 1979.
