Nine PBS Recognized as a Top Employer for Women

Email share

Nine PBS has been named one of the region’s top employers for women by the Women’s Foundation of Greater St. Louis (WFSTL) in its annual Women in the Workplace: Employment Scorecard. This is the fifth year it has received the designation.

Nine PBS is one of just 11 St. Louis organizations to receive this recognition, which highlights measurable progress in four areas of workplace gender equity: leadership, compensation, flexible work policies, and recruitment and retention.

Amy Shaw, president and CEO of Nine PBS, says, “Nine PBS is proud to be recognized for measurable outcomes that show our commitment to a healthy workplace. Equity is one of our core values, and this recognition affirms that we are building an organization where, when women have opportunities to lead, thrive, and contribute at the highest levels, we all win.”

What sets this recognition apart is its focus on outcomes. Rather than employee surveys, the WFSTL Scorecard uses a blind review of data and policies to evaluate employers. Organizations must meet benchmarks such as:

  • Women in at least 28% of top leadership roles
  • Women represent at least 25% of the top 10% of earners
  • Starting wages above Missouri’s minimum wage
  • Family-friendly and flexible work policies
