For the fourth year in a row, Nine PBS has been recognized as a Best Place for Women to Work by the Women’s Foundation of St. Louis.
Nine PBS was one of 14 area employers recognized in the seventh annual “Women in the Workplace: Employment Scorecard.” This year’s scorecard identifies honorees that demonstrate excellence in four areas of workplace gender equity—leadership, compensation, flexible work policies, and recruitment and retention.
The distinction reinforces Nine PBS’s commitment to meet every employee where they are and address their unique needs to help them thrive. We create and sustain a positive, high-performing, inspiring, and inclusive culture that prioritizes the well-being and belonging of every member of our team.
“We’re thrilled to once again be honored as a Best Place for Women to Work,” says Kate Midgett, SHRM-CP, Vice President and Chief Organizational Excellence Officer, Nine PBS. “Equity is one of our core values at Nine PBS, and we strive to create policies and practices that contribute to an environment where every member of our team receives respect and the opportunity to thrive. We know that by focusing on women, we create a rippling effect that supports the needs of every employee and therefore, our entire staff, organization, and region will benefit.”
The Scorecard recognizes companies of all sizes who showed a strong commitment to women in the workplace through measurable outcomes, key policies, and best practices, including demonstrating results with women in a minimum of 25 percent of top leadership roles; a minimum of 25 percent of women in the top 10 percent of the most highly compensated employees; a starting wage higher than the Missouri minimum wage; family-friendly flexible work policies; and recruitment and retention programs targeted at advancing women.
