St. Louis, MO — September 22, 2017 —The independent charity watchdog Charity Navigator has awarded the Nine Network its highest rating, four out of four stars, for 2017. Nine received this top designation “for demonstrating strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency.”
A 4-star rating indicates that a non-profit or charity exceeds industry standards and outperforms its peers in terms of financial health and best accounting practices. Its purpose is to provide private donors with the assurance that their contributions are being given to a trustworthy source. According to Charity Navigator, only 28 percent of the charities it evaluated earned its top rating for consecutive years.
“It’s always an honor to receive Charity Navigator’s highest designation,” said Nine Network President and CEO Jack Galmiche. “We always strive to inspire a spirit of hope and possibility in our community, and this designation gives the people of our region the confidence to join the Nine Network in working toward that mission.”
Charity Navigator was founded in 2001 to help private donors with their philanthropic giving. It provides essential information about the financial well-being of non-profits and evaluates their levels of transparency. The data-driven evaluation model used by Charity Navigator has been lauded by publications including Forbes, Business Week and Kiplinger’s Financial Magazine, among others.
