A Leader in Learning

Email share

We know that there is a village working to support every child in our region. These villages are made of family members, at-home childcare centers, librarians, schoolteachers, and more, all passionate and dedicated to nurturing their kids.

At Nine PBS, our Early Learning team joins in this work, connecting partners, childcare providers, and families with trusted and proven PBS KIDS® resources, opportunities, and information to advance outcomes for our youngest and most under-resourced learners.

In 2024, the Nine PBS Early Learning team supported more than 27,200 early learners, 4,100 caregivers, and nearly 1,000 educators.

Power Hours

Nine PBS Power Hours are 60-minute sessions with families that include fun, interactive lessons to bring learning opportunities outside the classroom. Each series comprises six sessions that incorporate hands-on, playful learning strategies that address state standards that have been identified as the greatest gap in achievement for under resourced schools.

Storytime in the Commons

A favorite every year, the Storytime in the Commons event series blends Nine PBS KIDS characters, activities, content, and stories in a block-party style morning of family fun. With partners including the St. Louis Public Library, St. Louis Fire Department, and many more, kids learn more about their community as they build a love of learning.

These are just a few of the many offerings from our Nine PBS Early Learning team.
