Home Sweet Home
This non-profit collects donated used furniture and delivers items to families in need throughout the St. Louis community, helping to turn places to live into homes.
Purple Martins
This is the time of year when insect-eating purple martins return to Forest Park. The birdhouses there make up one of the largest urban purple martin colonies in North America thanks to the years of work by John Miller.
Schizophrenia Center
Washington University’s Dr. Daniel Mamah is the director and founder of WERC, the Washington Early Recognition Center, which identifies and treats adolescents in the early stages of schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses. As with other serious illnesses and conditions, early intervention can lead to better long- term outcomes.
UFO Town
Hundreds of UFO sightings were reported around the small town of Piedmont in the 1970s. Today the town enthusiastically claims the title of “Missouri’s UFO Capital.”
