I AM ST. LOUIS

I am St. Louis is a collaborative storytelling initiative between Nine PBS and the Missouri Historical Society designed to highlight the people, places, and moments that have shaped St. Louis while connecting those stories to the bigger picture of why they matter today.

At its heart, the project asks: If St. Louis could introduce itself, what would it say? Each segment explores flashpoints that shaped our community, as well as individuals whose lives left lasting marks on the city and the world. These stories aim to build civic pride, deepen appreciation for the region’s complexity, and foster a stronger sense of connectivity for long-time residents, newcomers, and visitors alike.

I am St. Louis turns history into living, shared storytelling, combining Nine PBS’s reach with the Historical Society’s expertise to strengthen civic pride and build a deeper sense of belonging in St. Louis.

Join the community-wide effort to share and preserve our region's history for generations to come. Visit mohistory.org/we-are-st-louis to learn more.
